Leadership and development programmes

I offer bespoke leadership and development programmes for managers and professionals within an organisation. These programmes typically have a duration span of 12 months. Given the intensity of the programmes, group size is restricted to a maximum of 10 participants.

“Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom” - Aristotle

So much is said about leadership at work, and that’s important. What often gets missed though, is that true leadership starts with how you lead your own life: self-leadership. Being a self-leader means knowing who you are at your core and what your core values are (which can and may change over time). You then begin the practise of trusting yourself to lead your life from those values.

Mirror Gazing

Becoming the leader you aspire to be therefore starts with you - in and out of the workplace. I invite you to look in the mirror at yourself. What do you see? How do others see you? How do you relate to and interact with others? Are you aware of your strengths and qualities? Your blind spots? How do you consciously and unconsciously make impact on your surroundings? With greater self- knowledge and self-awareness, you will develop the confidence to use yourself as your most important tool when it comes to leading, including leading others.

My Approach

Self-leadership is my starting point and therefore the basis of any leadership programme I design, all of which are bespoke. They can range from a 3-day programme focussing on one aspect of leadership development to a more intensive trajectory of 12 months. I have 20 years’ experience of facilitating group learning, including 7 consecutive years of running a one-year leadership programme for managers in the handicap health care sector.

I work with the group process in the here-and-now. This means paying attention to the underlying group dynamics and experiences that arise in the moment. Participants are invited to ‘use’ each other for their own learning process.  I apply a healthy blend of working with the head (theory), the gut (intuition), the heart (emotions) and the hands (practical exercises and simulations) – all of which are  intended to help participants develop and connect to their unique leadership style. The programmes are highly interactive and combine theory with reflection, here-and-now experience and lots of practice.

What’s involved?

I primarily work with professionals and managers within an organisation. At the moment, I don't offer programmes for open registration.  Once the goals have been established for the leadership trajectory, a programme might include (some of) the following:

  • Personal leadership challenge
  • A personal intake with each participant
  • Programme Kickstart
  • 1-5 modules spread over 6-12 months (depending on the length of programme)
  • Collegial 360 feedback
  • In-between-module assignments
  • Three-way dialogue with manager, participant and programme facilitator
  • Programme conclusion day

As mentioned above, all programmes include an aspect of self-leadership. From the start of any programme, participants will be invited to set a personal leadership challenge that will form the focus of their learning during their trajectory.
