In this mentoring day for therapists, we delve into the complexities of your practice, addressing your challenging case loads, and practising therapeutic interventions and approaches, including, if desired, the space to address your counter transference (which can subsequently be more deeply explored in supervision).
This is a highly interactive and practical day with like-minded therapists. Together we will co-create a safe and creative space for you to explore and experiment. We take the day to share and normalise blunders and struggles and then we play with new ways of working and intervening. You also get to experience and receive feedback on what you do well, so that you can build on your qualities as you grow more confident in your interventions. The cases you bring to the table are based on your individual therapy work. If you give relationship therapy, I offer a separate learning day to address the unique challenges in working with couples.
Because this is a small group setting, with heaps of opportunity to practise and experiment, you will dive deeper into the heart of your interventions and develop your intervention repertoire. We will do this through discussions and sharing, demonstrations, rehearsals, experiential exercises and reflective practices. Additionally, you will benefit from:
The mentoring day will be held in York (location to be decided). We will start at 10am and finish at 1630. There will be a lunch break of 60 minutes. Please bring your own lunch or treat yourself in one of the nearby cafes.
