My name is Andrea McCabe and I am passionate about working with curious humans on their quest for personal growth and well-being.
As a UKCP licenced Gestalt psychotherapist, couples therapist and Trauma Practitioner (Somatic Experiencing®), I have been working in private practice for 18 years and offer online therapy and coaching, my specialism being in the field of relating and relationships. I also offer a mentoring programme for therapists wishing to hone their intervention skills.
My private practice opens up a place where you can come to make sense of what you are experiencing, and start to explore what gets in your way of living the life you truly want for yourself, in a space that I hope feels comfortable, non-judgmental and safe.
I offer online therapy via Zoom. I'm based in the UK and I work with clients internationally. If you are a native Dutch speaker, I can offer the sessions in Dutch.
Working online will offer you the comfort and connection of face-to-face sessions, but with added convenience of being in your own surroundings. I’ll guide you through the process of creating a therapeutic space at home so you feel grounded and comfortable in our sessions.
For online sessions, you'll need strong and reliable access to the internet and a device that has a good quality camera and audio.
For all therapy sessions, it's vital you have a safe, quiet and private space to speak from where you won't be disturbed. It's also important that you won't be overheard by someone in the next room. It might also help to have earphones to help with sound quality and to create a feeling of privacy.

For 18 years my approach has combined various therapy and spiritual practices – making complex concepts accessible and practically actionable, so that you can work on making the changes you desire.
To help you become more empowered in your important relationships – including the relationship you have with yourself.
Therapy can be super helpful in supporting you to learn about yourself. This may include understanding your emotional reactions in certain situations, identifying and expressing your needs, desires and preferences; working on your limiting beliefs that keep you stuck; learning relational skills that can help you, for example, have difficult conversations; and learning new skills to communicate clear and healthy boundaries.
From a place of greater self- knowledge, you learn how to approach your life and your relationships with more honesty, self-trust and integrity so that you become less affected by what others think and feel freer to do what’s right for you.
